Pericarditis
- MC = Viral pathology (Coxsackie & Echovirus)
- Persistent pleuritic chest pain
- Worse when lying flat
- Gravity is compressing the pericardium causing pain
- Alleviated with sitting up / leaning forward
- **PERICARDIAL FRICTION RUB**
- ECG = Shortened PR Interval and Widespread ST Elevation
- Tx: NSAIDS, Colchicine, Corticosteroids
Cardiac Tamponade
