Self resolving in infants in 2-3 weeks

*Arthralgias in adults*

***CAUSES APLASTIC CRISIS IN SICKLE CELL PATIENT***

Hand-foot-mouth disease

Caused be Coxsackie virus

Self limiting

Symptomatic treatment

Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Roseola

Measles

Cough, Coryza, Conjunctivitis prodrome

KOPLIK SPOTS

Complications include:

Pan sclerosing encephalitis

Mumps

Paramyxovirus

Parotid gland swelling

Complications include:

Orchitis,  encephalitis, pancreatitis

Rubella

Part of Togavirus family

Look for LYMPHADENOPATHY

Part of T.O.R.C.H. (Teratogenic in 1st trimester , see below)

Cataracts + Cardiac problems + Cochlea (hearing loss) + Blueberry Muffin rash
