Hyperparathyroidism

MCC = Parathyroid Adenoma

HYPERcalcemia symptoms such as:

  • Stones (kidney stones)
  • Groans (abdominal pain, muscle pain, constipation)
  • Bones (bone pains and aches)
  • Psychiatric Overtones (anxiety, lethargy, depression)
Surgery only definitive treament

Hypoparathyroidism

Usually caused by parathyroidectomy

HYPOCalcemia symptoms such as:

  • Cardiac arrythmias (Prolonged QT)
  • Osteomalacia
  • Numbness and tingling
Tx: Supplementation
